The Sno-King Scholarship Fund was started in 1984. The first scholarship of $300 was given in 1985. In 1988 three $300 scholarships were given--one each to Edmonds, Northshore and Shoreline school districts recipients.

SNO-KING SCHOOL RETIREES SCHOLARSHIP
FOR STUDENTS PLANNING A CAREER IN EDUCATION
Applications must be postmarked by March 15, 2024.
Student applicants for the Sno-King School Retirees Scholarship must complete the attached application form (a resume may be substituted for questions 2, 3 and 4). An official record (transcript) of your high school courses and grades must be attached to the application as well as two letters of recommendation from high school faculty members.

Only current graduating seniors from Edmonds, Northshore or Shoreline School Districts should apply. There will be no discrimination on the basis of gender, religion, race or disability. Selection of award winner will be based on scholarship, school activities, community service, career goal in the educational field and may/may not include financial need.
Beginning in 2024 the current value of the scholarship is $2500, renewable for one more year at $2500.
Applicants for this scholarship must be entering a post-secondary institution of higher learning in the fall of the year following high school graduation unless approved by a SKSR Board granted variance. Should a scholarship recipient fail to enroll in a post-secondary institution within that time, his/her award money will be returned to the Sno-King School Retirees.
The funds of this scholarship will be deposited with the Financial Aid Officer at the post-secondary institution where the student is enrolled. Tuition and fees may be paid from this account.

2. Second year Winnie Smith Memorial Scholarship Requirements and Application. This renewable scholarship is $2,500 for year 2 beginning in 2024. This scholarship application is due March 15, 2024.

3. The Washington State School Retirees' Association provides two scholarships for students in our area. These are several different types of scholarships at varying amounts of money.
