Tom and Linda Averill embarked on their 8th trip this past October with Overseas Adventure Travel (OAT). They selected the Jewels of Bohemia overland trip and were not disappointed. They highly recommend a trip to this area. It is truly beautiful filled with fairyland scenery, picturesque villages, cozy accommodations and delicious restaurants. Music abounds. This two-week journey took them to the heartland of Central Europe with stops in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary. Borrowing some of the words of our personalized guidebook as well as her own...In the Czech Republic, they experienced a region noted for its Bohemian beer, the breathtaking spires of Prague, the medieval town of Česká Krumlov, and traditional life in the Renaissance village of Slavonice. They absolutely fell in love with the Czech Republic. In Slovakia, they sampled fine wines of the area and centered their stay around the quaint capital city of Bratislava. Visits to the surrounding countryside and farms were all extraordinary experiences. Hungary was magnificent especially the incomparable Budapest on the Danube. The history of this country and the others as well is at once heartbreaking, compelling and optimistic.
