The following information is current for the January 2021 second grant period for this 2020-21 school year.
Grant applications may be submitted starting January 4, 2021.
Each fall SKSR offers its active members in good standing the opportunity to apply for educational grants of up to $250 to facilitate their work with their students. Grants must have a direct, positive effect/impact on students in their building and meet at least one of the following criteria:
Past grants include requests for themed books to supplement a unit of study, manipulatives to teach math concepts, picture books to be read aloud to students, and supplementary curriculum materials. Because of the uncertainty of when, or if, schools will be able to welcome students back to their buildings and the need to continue to socially distance, the Grants Committee will screen applications for their ability to be completed with everyone off-campus. Therefore, this year the committee will NOT be funding fieldtrip transportation or other in-person activities.
Although this year’s grants need to be centered around remote learning, it is hoped that these requests will be equally useful and effective when schools reopen.
Grant Eligibility:
In order to be considered by the Grants Committee, the grant money must be used on behalf of the students in the building/location where you perform your educational duties.
Scoring Criteria:
Copy the revised application below, complete it, and email it to Karen McElliott at ksmcelliott@gmail.com. Afterward, check your district email for confirmation that your grant application has been received. (If you have any questions, check the Grant FAQs on this website or contact Karen at the above address.)
